Hello, world!

Wow, I haven’t used this thing in literal years. I’ve gotta say I do like this place much more than LiveJournal or Tumblr, so this is basically my backup for both, haha. I haven’t made a lot of of original content over the years, but hopefully weaning myself from the whole “reblogging other people’s content all the time” thing will finally kick me into creating again.

Most of my information, including a list of my fandoms, is in my profile, but to recap: I’m Sharona, a white cis woman living on occupied land in southern California. I’m aromantic bisexual (maybe acespec, but I personally have no interest in looking for specific microlabels that fit me). I’m mentally ill (not professionally diagnosed, though I do have a family history of mental illness), so I’m not incredibly sociable, though I have been trying to work on opening up to others. I do have my journal open to everyone, and I’m open to any conversation, including criticism. I don’t tolerate abuse or bigotry (racism, misogyny, transphobia, etc.), and I’m willing to listen and adjust my behavior accordingly me if I’ve said or done anything offensive.

As for the state of this blog, I’ve adapted my layout from erinptah here. My title and subtitle are taken from the June 12, 2009 Dinosaur Comics strip here (GIF warning!), which is a guest strip by Andrew Hussie (fun fact: I’ve never read more than a handful of pages of Homestuck).

i'm probably the least qualified person to make a fanmix for this ship, but if i don't, who will? never made a mix b4 and my music tastes run towards the weird and angsty, so it was tough trying not to make a generic femslash mix... and trying to fit the actual characters!

i decided to go more for an interpretation where they're a little older and trying to balance their lives and their work and their love for each other, but idk how well that came across since i'm more used to vidding where you only need one part of the song to fit, and you can discard or edit out anything that doesn't! but obvs i can't make a vid for these two since there is no footage for them and barely any fanart of the game period (and practically none of which has nema)

so some of these might need a little creative interpretation to fit the general theme? which if i'm being honest was mostly 'small scientist loves hero gf' haha. also i guess it seems unnecessary to have covers in this case, but, as a vidder, i tend to hoard covers so i can vid without hitting copyright. anyways, the covers are very chill and not performed by white people so maybe that is a plus. idk, i'm just used to hearing these versions now

also i didn't originally intend this to only have songs with female artists, but once i noticed that was how it was going i didn't fight it. my only real rules were no sexual themes (nema and summer are pretty young) and no ableist terms (the c word is v common in love songs). the fact that this ended up being basically a wlw mix is the only thing i'm really one hundred percent happy about
